LaShanda Lovette

LaShanda Lovette

LaShanda Lovette is a native Floridian with 15 years in the housing industry and 6 years in the banking industry. Working her way from case manager to Deputy Director has allowed her to see how a housing authority is ran from the ground up. It has also exposed her to the ongoing needs of the community of people and the challenges that a housing authority faces when trying to address those needs in an environment that is continuously changing.

Over the arc of her career Ms. Lovette is most proud of the relationships that she has been able to build with the families that she has served. From changing someone’s though process, or someone returning to school, purchasing their first home and even becoming a case manager themselves after becoming self-sufficient and graduation form the housing assistance program.

Ms. Lovette returned to college to finish her degree after quitting to work full time to take care of her younger brothers and sisters so they could finish their degrees. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration on entrepreneurship with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida. All while working full time and teaching financial literacy classes at UCF.

Ms. Lovette became the first African American Executive Director of the Winter Park Housing Authority in January 2019.  She is excited to be the key person responsible for efficiency and the growth of the agency. She is looking forward to creating new opportunities for the families of the WPHA.
