Resource Spotlight: The Six Regional Florida Cancer Control Collaboratives

There are a number of agencies working together under the Florida Department of Health and its Florida Cancer Plan to help reduce the impact of cancer on residents of the state. These groups focus their efforts on cancer prevention, increasing access to timely diagnosis and treatments, and helping people are their families after a cancer diagnosis (survivorship).

Among the various groups working toward the goals created by the Florida Cancer Plan, the Florida Cancer Control Collaborative is an important one to know about.

Florida Cancer Control Collaborative (FCCC)

The Florida Cancer Control Collaborative isn't actually one group; it's six regional divisions that cover the whole state. They're important for carrying out the missions of the Florida Cancer Plan on the local level in the counties they serve.

These organizations emphasize reaching underserved communities, such as low-income and minority populations, who are often disproportionately affected due to a lack of reliable information, resources, and services.

Visit the website of your local FCCC or get in touch with them directly by phone or email if you're interested in getting cancer-related help. Your local division is an excellent resource for the latest information about cancer prevention, getting help accessing diagnostic services or treatment, finding support for living with cancer (or a loved one's cancer), and more.

Below are the six regional FCCCs, lists of the counties they serve, and contact information.
