Tea Party for Tranquil Terrace Residents

Tranquil Terrace residents enjoyed a lovely event with tea, finger sandwiches, cookies and amazing gifts. There was live entertainment, fun activities and lots of laughter. Thank you to New Beginnings Outreach for a special and enjoyable gathering. New Beginnings Outreach is a faith based non-profit Organization dedicated to making a positive impact in the community; their goal is to empower individuals to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. WPHA is excited to partner with New Beginnings Outreach.

We Honor Breast Cancer Awareness in the Month of October

The risk of developing breast cancer increases with age. According to the American Cancer Society, the median age of diagnosis for breast cancer in women is 62 years. This emphasizes the necessity of early detection and awareness for those in their 60s and beyond. It could be obstacles for the elderly to access routine testing and services. While Medicare covers mammograms for most seniors over 65 in the state of Florida, out-of-pocket charges or financial challenges may prevent regular checkups. This makes it even more important for seniors to be proactive in self-examinations and seek out community services or clinics that offer discounted or free tests. Knowing what to do can save you from a late diagnosis. The ROSS Program strives to provide resources and services to address our senior's health needs.
