Fraud or Misleading Information

Knowingly providing false or misleading information is fraud.

Committing fraud to qualify for housing assistance through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development could lead to:

  • Eviction
  • Liability for all received rental assistance for which you do not qualify
  • Fines up to $10,000
  • Imprisonment for up to 5 years
  • Disqualification from any future aid
  • Other state & local penalties
